Ty Beanie Baby - 1996 4162 Mel Koala Bear
This is Mel the Koala, style 4162. She was introduced on 01/01/1997 and retired about 2 years 4 months later on 03/31/1999. Copywritten in 1996, Mel is quite a vintage Beanie Baby. The older the Beanie Baby the less "frills" they have. But she sure is cute!
The poem on her swing tag reads:
"How do you name a Koala bear?
It’s rather tough, I do declare!
It confuses me, I get into a funk
I’ll name him Mel after my favorite hunk!"
Always kept in a non-smoking environment, Mel is in mint condition with an almost-mint tag (there appears to be a very small crease in the heart when looked at very close-up).
